Sunderland Man Convicted of Football Racism
Sunderland magistrates have convicted fifty year old Frank Wheetley of using racially aggravated words and behaviour during the game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Anti-semitic taunts, aimed against Spurs players, were witnessed by a club steward positioned to identify those responsible for racist chanting.
Wheetley, a self-employed electrical contractor, was fined £200 with £100 costs and banned from attending association football matches in England and Wales for one year.
