Nine months on from a failed complaint against the Sunday Sun to the Press Complaints Commission, Kevin Scott, BNP North East political supremo, has been shooting his mouth off again.
This time, the Sun tells us, Scott believes that he’s successfully dug the dirt on TWAFA – Tyne And Wear Anti Fascist Association. Use of the UK Official Information Act by Scott tells him that TWAFA is receiving funding from the GMB.
Scott thinks GMB stands for the GMB trade union. In fact, it’s Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council, from whom TWAFA has received funding, in the past, for education and school visits.
The GMB (UK’s general union with 700,000 members – anyone can join) thanks Scott for drawing their attention to such a splendid organisation and though never having funded TWAFA before, decides to do so.
TWAFA thanks Scott for the great PR job he’s done on their behalf and says “…shot down in flames, again, eh Kevin?”
