The bravery and compassion of those who stopped to help victims of the Westminster attack proved terrorism will never prevail over British values, South Shields’ MP has said. Emma Lewell-Buck has spoken out after the violence which claimed the lives of Pc Keith Palmer, Aysha Frade and US tourist Kurt Cochran were killed.
The attacker, who police have now named as Khalid Masood, 52, drove into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before crashing his car into railings outside Parliament and then running into the grounds armed with a knife. He stabbed PC Palmer and before being shot dead by another officer.

TWAFA Comment: Here at TWAFA we would endorse every word spoken here by Emma Lewell-Buck. We must all stand up for our values of liberty and tolerance and not allow ourselves to become divided and full of the same hatred as the perpetrator of the terrible crime in London allowed himself to be.
If we allow ourselves to be divided and spread more hatred in response to the outrage at Westminster, we are simply playing into the hands of those who plan and carry out such crimes. Let us not allow the terrorists to win by becoming as full of hatred as they are. That is what they want.
As the saying goes, “only light can drive out darkness.”
