A Norwegian anti-immigrant group has been roundly ridiculed after members apparently mistook a photograph of six empty bus seats posted on its Facebook page for a group of women wearing burqas… Click here to read Jon Henley’s article.

TWAFA Comment: This story is from Norway, but is still all too relevant to us in Northeast England. The way that members of the far-right in Norway mistook a picture of empty bus seats shows a number of things.

Firstly, it is remarkable just how ridiculous the far-right make themselves look, over and over again.  This story also shows how easily hate and irrational rage can take over the minds of those on the far-right.  It also shows how fake news can spread quickly amongst members of the far-right.

The story might be from Norway but, sadly, we could easily imagine members of the far-right in our own region making just the same mistake….
